Thursday Night Welcoming Party

Hello All Festers!

I have been working on trying to find a "place" to host the welcoming party but have finally decided that we will be hanging out at Broad Creek eating some food and having a few drinks.

After calling a few places and doing some thinking (and talking to dawiggs) we decided that since people will be showing up at all different times on Thursday a more informal get together would make sense. So I am going to get up with High Cotton BBQ and have them put a spread together for us. BBQ, Chicken, Slaw, Beans, Cornbread all the good stuff and then we can all eat and come and go as we please. I will also load up the 100 quart cooler with some beers & sodas so if you drink something out of the ordinary please bring it. (Paid for by yours truely)

If you need or want to supply your own beer, please remember you can buy it from Junior at the Ship Store, Broad Creek has been nice enough to let us use them as home base, we should only give something back!

I am also working on having something a little more formal for Saturday Night. I have 2 calls into different places.

1. Queen Anne's Revenge in Wanchese
2. Stipers Bar & Grille in Manteo
(TBR Members will cover their own Checks)

I'm trying to locate a place that won't be packed and that maybe we can have a separate room at. I'm thinking since Queen Anne's Revenge is only doing private parties they will work & also Stripers will work if we can get a "Floor" to ourselves.

So that's the plan. I will probably spend most of Thursday finalizing all things that need to be finalized. So hopefully some of you guys will have some fish to throw on the grill when you get back from fishing..

That is if Fernando doesn't kidnap me!!!

Also, don't forget $50 / per angler with proceeds going to the Children's Hospital.

Also, TBR stuff will be on sale, so bring your cash!!!

I have been thinking about this and I guess it's up to you guys.

If I can get the money ahead of time, I will be able to deposit it in the TBR checking account. If I have the money ahead of time I was planning on asking a rep from the Childrens Hospital to come down Saturday night and get a check with the proceeds so that all of us could be in the picture.

If I don't get the money ahead of time, I will just have to get up with the Children's Hospital Rep at another time without everyone.

So if you guys want to send them in ahead of time that's fine, but if I only get 4 or 5 checks there's no point.

We will be fishing and hopefully it will be past 6:00 before we get in............wishfull thinking.

Here's a thought....

How about get one of those big old fake checks for the monies donated, so you can write in the total and present it for photo ops, then finalize up with CHKD the next week after all the deposits go through.

They wouldn't mind.

My thoughts are whenever you get back the party will still be on, as I am sleeping at your Pirates Cove place that night....

Wait, you don't want me to fish with you thursday... if you made me go, I might have too!!
