It's the only AP I've ever owned but I do like my TR-1. Lot's of operation and safety related features like Shadow Drive. I also have Raymarine electronics and all of the connections are NMEA between the chartplotter and the TR-1. I've heard good about Simrad but can't speak from personnal use like I can on the TR-1.
