Guy I work with can't leave his bed for 8 weeks. He was in surgery for 4.5 hours yesterday. He has no more of his vertebrae left in his neck, just a cage with some sort of cement that's supposed to one day "grow" him a new neck with what little they left in there...apparently his vertebrae were closing around his spinal cord and when surgery that "routed" out the inside of his vertebrae to make room didn't work, the just cut the majority of the bone out...
