Default Pascagoula 5-17 + 5-18

We left Pascagoula about 4pm Saturday afternoon and headed south. Our first stop was a small well cap about 115ft deep. It was full of big white trout and big redfish.

Next we moved a little deeper and began catching the elusive red snapper left and right.

About 2:30 am we decided to move a little deeper, so we headed to a rig in about 210 feet of water. I droped a hardtail down to the bottom and was soon hooked up to something big. After a long fight we got the fish to the side of the boat, it was a 7-8 foot bull shark. For a little change we began drifting light jigs toward the rig. This was very productive for mangrove snapper, and they are a blast on lighter tackle.

Sunrise about 74 miles south of Pascagula

We began to head north about 10am. We were planning to hunt for cobia on the way back, but the stiff west wind changed our minds. It was a long, wet, and rough ride back to Pascagoula.

All and all it was a great trip.
