I'm really surprised and happy at how well the boat works. Not only does it come out of the hole just fine, but it is just plain sweet and smooth. Lots of storage and lots of deck space makes life easys. The boat is a delight to drive and the new electronics are stunning. Yesterday was a lobster day and today we got the deck bloody with a nice jack. The only downside of the boat is its size on the trailer. It makes the driveway a bunch smaller and the shallow ramp makes the slider tongue worthwhile.
I was very concerned about the gas consumption, but it looks like the running average will be about 1.7 mpg. I was worried it would come in about 1.2. I have it propped with Inertia 17's and It will turn them 6000 rpm with no problem. I think I'm going to need to try 19's.Hopefully we'll have time to do a bit more detailed testing in the morning. The water has been nice and clear, so I've been more concerned with getting in the water than documenting what the boat does.
Last note: I put fuel in the truck this afternoon. Diesel is $4.62 per gallon.
