Yes you can buy ballyhoo sometimes if they have it. Just to be on the safe side take what ever you need because even if they do carry it, it will be EXPENSIVE.....
Fishing if typically done within a mile from shore. This puts you in about 1000 ft. You can run out about 6 miles (EAST) and look for currents, eddies, birds, weed lines or rips and that will put you in about 12,000 ft. This is the area that I used to fish and always produced.
A big help if you have one is a radar to help you find the birds.
The time you are heading is prime time for catching wahoo and yellowfin tuna.
I don't have any fishing reports to really give, the last time I was over there was about 4 years ago.
