I probably know most of you from other sites. I have changed my screen name that is used on another site from Makosteve66 to Capt. Steve (it was taken on the other site when registering. I prefer this name. I mean, I may not always own a Mako (though I will never cease my desire to tangle with one)
Anyways, I just love boating and fishing. And for the first time in a few years I actually have enough time off coming to me to be able to travel to other parts of the country and "scratch my itch"
I have extensive experience in the Northeast, inshore and offshore. I know live in the Fort Lauderdale area and quite honestly am still learning the fishery. For what its worth, I like the variety of the Northeast better, but perhaps I can be persuaded, but I miss the Tuna fishery of the Canyons - and closer. I have over 40 Gian Bluefin in my past with my personal best being 964 lbs.
If anyone is in the South Florida area - get in touch with me and we will go fishing. I am always looking for crew. I am very easygoing and just ask that you share the same passion for the sport that I do. 2 simple rules. No drugs on board, and alcohol to have a good time but not to get "sloppy drunk" where it becomes a safety issues I personally do not drink anymore (but I do miss it) do to health issues that thankfully appear to have been brought under control - losing 144 lbs was certainly a help.
I have noticed that many of you appear to be from the
OBX area. This is an area that I have never fished and have been
dying to do so. I am willing to travel and pay my share of all expenses if ever anyone is in need of additional crew.
Like wise I will gladly take visitors to South Florida out with me. I have only been boating 2 years down here and I am dying to go to the Bahamas on my own boat. My problem is that I do not have a regular crew. Anyone interested? Let me know. My schedule is wide open. Sorry for the long post. Looking forward to getting to know you all better.
