It has no counter. I had a dead battery (now replaced) on the river. The boat that pulled up to help turned out to be a marine mechanic. He remarked repeatedly about how well cared for the motor was. I only ran it twice, so it is still in the same shape. I put about 4 or 5 hours on it. The guy I bought the boat from was extremely meticulous in everything. Even went as far as to replace the spare tire when he heard I was driving from AL to FL to get it... "Just in case" he said... In talking to him, I have every reason to believe he took equally good care of the boat.
